Elephant Park is one of those lovely mixed-use green spaces that offers a bit of everything for locals and visitors alike. During winter, the park undergoes a magical transformation into Newport Skates, complete with an outdoor ice skating rink from November through March. If you're a parent looking for a place to teach your little ones how to skate, or you're just finding your own balance on the ice, this is your spot - it's decidedly more friendly for families and beginners than serious skaters.

When the weather warms up, the park shifts gears entirely. One of the newer additions to the space are the three pickleball courts installed by LeFrak, the developer behind the Newport neighborhood. No need for reservations here - just show up and play, but keep in mind they close at 8:30 PM in summer. Fair warning: these courts have become quite the hotspot, so you might find yourself waiting your turn as others enjoy this increasingly popular sport.

Needing a break from the sun? The park offers several shaded seating areas where you can catch your breath or enjoy a quiet moment outdoors. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the unique artist sculptures scattered throughout the grounds, giving this green space an extra touch of cultural character.
