Park Overview

Situated in southeast Albuquerque, Jack and Jill Park is a modest urban green space that is a breathing spot for the surrounding community. Despite what its storybook name might suggest, you won't find any hills to tumble down here - just a simple neighborhood park with character.

History and Development

This little park has been woven into the fabric of the neighborhood for quite some time now, with some neighbors calling the area home for nearly a decade. The park has evolved over the years, however not all changes have sat well with the locals who frequent it.

Facilities

Jack and Jill falls under the care of the City of Albuquerque's Park Management Division, just like its many siblings scattered throughout the city. The highlight here is definitely the children's play area, designed with various age groups in mind so little ones can climb, slide, and imagine to their hearts' content.

Community Challenges

Lately, the park has been facing some tough realities. Homeless encampments and inappropriate activities have become increasingly common, sparking concern among residents living nearby. These issues have unfortunately made parts of the park, especially the playground, less welcoming than they should be. The situation has sparked ongoing conversations within the community about how to better maintain the park's safety and ensure it remains a space everyone can enjoy.
