Trail Features

Loop around Montgomery Park and you'll cover about 0.8 miles (1.29 km) along a gentle grade 1 trail that encircles the grounds. If you're counting steps, that's 1700 of them - excellent for a quick morning walk or an evening jog to clear your mind.

The path starts near the library and winds clockwise around the park. As you make your way around, you'll notice that part of the route incorporates the Paseo del Noreste multi-use trail, connecting you to other parts of central Albuquerque. Need more mileage? The North Diversion Trail links directly to the park, giving you extended options for walking or biking adventures.

Terrain and Popularity

Most of Montgomery Park offers flat, easy walking, but there's a short steep section near Comanche Boulevard that adds just enough challenge to keep things interesting. You'll rarely find yourself alone here - the park draws a steady stream of locals throughout the day.

The generous size and well-kept grassy areas make this spot ideal for fitness enthusiasts. One complete lap measures roughly a mile, making it wonderfully convenient for tracking your exercise goals without needing to check your fitness tracker constantly.

Recreational Facilities

Beyond the walking path, Montgomery Park has something for just about everyone. The sports fields provide plenty of room for impromptu soccer games or tossing a football around. The tennis courts are well-maintained and have become a hotspot for the increasingly popular pickleball as well.
