Phil Chacon Park offers a 0.6-mile walking trail rated as Grade 2 difficulty, making it accessible for most visitors. The trail features 4-8 foot wide asphalt and packed gravel surfaces for comfortable walking experiences.

Upcoming Renovations
Phil Chacon Park is currently undergoing significant renovations scheduled for completion by late spring 2025. The renovation design includes two softball fields with 225-foot fences and a renovated turf sports field.
New recreational features will include an international walk and walking loop, a disc golf course, basketball courts, and futsal courts. The park will also add a community garden, food forest, and both standard and free-roam dog parks.
Family-Friendly Features
The renovation plans include a playground, play area, and nature play area specifically designed for families with children.
Additional amenities will feature a BMX bike area, a shade and performance area, and cultural art installations throughout the park.

Phil Chacon Park is located near the intersection of Louisiana Boulevard SE and Kathryn Avenue SE in Albuquerque. The nearby Cesar Chavez Community Center provides convenient access to additional facilities and parking.
Public transportation is available via ABQ Ride bus routes #3 and #157, making the park accessible to residents throughout Albuquerque.
