About the Location

A Cozy Neighborhood Hangout

Found in the northeastern part of Albuquerque, Quigley Park is a popular green space for locals in the surrounding neighborhood. Just a stone's throw from Coronado Center, this park offers a welcome breath of fresh air amid the urban landscape.

Large, leafy trees dot the grounds, casting patches of welcome shade around the park. A simple dirt trail loops around the perimeter - great for morning strolls, dog walks, or a casual jog to start your day right.

Kid-Friendly Fun

The playground area is the heart of Quigley Park's family appeal. Little adventurers can explore a variety of equipment including ropes, platforms, slides (with a particularly fun roller slide that kids seem to love), a charming mini playhouse, and swings for children of different ages. While the playground tends to be better suited for the older kids, there are still some options that will keep the little ones entertained.

Scattered around the park are permanent picnic tables and benches where you can enjoy a packed lunch or simply sit back and watch the world go by. These spots make for perfect mini-getaways during a busy day.

Get Active

Feel like shooting some hoops? The park's basketball facilities offer a great way to break a sweat and maybe even join an impromptu game with the locals.

Beyond the courts, a large open field provides ample space for everything from soccer practice to frisbee games, family relay races, or just sprawling out on a blanket with a good book from the park's own...

Nice Touches

A little free library adds a nice community touch - take a book, leave a book, and connect with neighbors through the shared love of reading.

Note that the park doesn't have public restrooms, so you might want to plan accordingly before settling in for a longer visit. There's fencing along the San Pedro side which creates some separation from the road, but you'll still hear traffic as part of the urban park soundtrack.

Good to Know

Quigley Park welcomes visitors daily from 5AM to 10PM. It's a perfectly safe spot to enjoy during daylight hours, but lacks adequate lighting after dark, so evening visits aren't recommended. If you're planning a morning trip with the kids, be aware that the playground catches quite a bit of sun in the early hours - though you can always retreat to the shadier areas of the park when the heat picks up.
