The paved path wraps around the entire park and falls into the Grade 1 difficulty level - basically, it's well-suited for almost anyone, whether you're power walking or just enjoying a leisurely wander while taking in the scenery.

Green Spaces for Days

The expansive grassy areas here are pretty versatile. You'll often spot families spreading out picnic blankets, impromptu football practices, soccer games, and even the occasional kite soaring overhead. The generous open space provides a nice contrast to the surrounding suburban area.

Sports are a big deal here, with organized practices and games regularly filling the fields. Sometimes food trucks roll up during these events, which is a nice touch when you're working up an appetite cheering from the sidelines.

Cabezon Park is seriously dog-friendly. The dedicated dog park features two separate fenced areas where your four-legged friends can run free without you worrying about them taking off. The rest of the park welcomes dogs too, just keep them leashed and bring those poop bags.

The dog areas are generous enough for good zoomies sessions, but on scorching New Mexico days, you might wish for more shade trees - something to keep in mind during summer visits.
