Location and Overview

Named after the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, the park offers a peaceful respite from the bustling city.

Park Features
The park features winding pathways, benches, and open grassy areas where visitors can relax, picnic, or enjoy outdoor activities. It is known for its mature trees, including oaks and elms, which provide ample shade during warmer months.
One of the park's notable features is the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial, located at the Central Park West entrance. This grand entrance to the American Museum of Natural History includes a bronze equestrian statue of Roosevelt flanked by figures representing Africa and America.

Recent Improvements
The park underwent renovations in recent years, including the addition of new trees, shrubs, and ground cover. The Margaret Mead Green, a 13,500-square-foot lawn area within the park, was expanded to provide more open space for visitors.
The park also includes a popular dog run where local residents can bring their pets to socialize and exercise.

Community Use
Theodore Roosevelt Park serves as both a neighborhood park for local residents and a gathering place for museum visitors. Its location next to the American Museum of Natural History makes it a convenient spot for museumgoers to take a break or enjoy a picnic before or after their visit.
