About Harvell Park
Sports Facilities
Harvell Park is home to several sports fields that cater to different interests. There's a baseball/softball field with all the proper specs - 90-foot base distance, clay and sand infield, and a 60'60" pitching rubber for those looking to practice their game.
If cricket is more your thing, you're in luck! The park has a regulation-size cricket ground with turf grass that hosts Carolina Cricket League matches. This is appreciated by cricket enthusiasts in the area.
You'll also find a basketball court here, although keep in mind the nets might need a little TLC according to some regulars. There's also an open field that many folks use for casual football games or just getting some exercise in the fresh air.
Recreation Areas
Beyond organized sports, Harvell Park offers spaces to simply unwind and play. There's a playground area where kids can burn off some energy, but it could admittedly use some updates and perhaps a few more swings to keep the little ones happy.
The park has plenty of open space that makes it great for dog walking and training. Just remember to clean up after your four-legged friends - everyone appreciates a clean park!
Amenities
One nice feature is the park's lighting, which means you can continue enjoying the facilities even as evening sets in. When nature calls, you'll come across restroom facilities with separate options for men and women (though these are portable restrooms, so set your expectations accordingly).
There are a few picnic tables scattered across the grounds, although having more tables and maybe some grills would certainly be a welcome addition for those planning longer visits.
Harvell Park welcomes visitors from 7AM to 9PM every day of the week. If you're looking for a quieter experience, weekdays tend to be more peaceful and well-suited for enjoying some solitude in nature. Weekends typically draw bigger crowds, bringing a more lively atmosphere to this community space.
