Rivergate Park

Riverside Transformation

Opened in 2011, this 7-acre park was developed through a partnership between the Cleveland Rowing Foundation and The Trust for Public Land. The park was created on a former industrial site, transforming it into a recreational area that provides public access to the river.

Rivergate Park is located along the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland's Flats district, making it easily accessible to both residents and visitors. It has played a role in the ongoing revitalization of Cleveland's waterfront areas, providing green space and recreational opportunities in what was once an industrial zone.

Water Activities

The park features scenic views of the Cuyahoga River and serves as a hub for water-based activities. It has become a popular spot for kayaking, canoeing, rowing, and dragon boating.

The Cleveland Rowing Foundation operates a boathouse on the site, which is used by local high school and college crew teams as well as community members.

Rivergate Park includes walking paths along the riverfront, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The park also includes Merwin's Wharf, a restaurant with outdoor seating that offers diners views of the river and boating activities. Additionally, the park has boat slips available for day use, allowing recreational boaters to dock and explore the area.
