Driving Park

Park Overview

Situated in Columbus, Ohio's Livingston Avenue Area and South Side communities, Driving Park spreads across nearly 24 acres of green space that locals have been enjoying since 1978. This park strikes a nice balance - big enough to offer plenty of activities but still maintaining that neighborhood feel where families can spread out and relax.

Trails and Paths

Need to get your steps in? The park features a paved path stretching 0.45 miles - well-suited for a quick morning jog or an evening wind-down walk. What's really cool is that Driving Park is a trailhead connecting to the broader greenway system, so you can easily extend your adventure if you're feeling ambitious. The trails meander through some natural areas too, giving you a little escape from the concrete jungle.

Sports Facilities

For sports enthusiasts, the park offers several options. There are athletic fields and ball diamonds where you'll often spot flag football games in progress. Basketball more your thing? Shoot some hoops at one of the two basketball courts.

If racquet sports are calling your name, head to the full tennis court. And in a nod to one of America's fastest-growing sports, they've added pickleball overlays - so bring those paddles along!

Family Recreation

The spacious playground area has plenty of equipment for climbing, sliding, and imaginary adventures - popular with the younger crowd. The open-air shelter and picnic tables make this a great spot for birthday celebrations, family reunions, or just enjoying a sandwich while the kids play nearby.

Water Recreation

When summer temperatures soar, the swimming pool becomes the park's most popular feature. It's well-maintained, regularly cleaned, and features two water slides that add an extra splash of fun. The pool is particularly great for young swimmers just getting comfortable in the water.

Community Amenities

Got a green thumb? The community garden lets you grow your own produce while connecting with neighbors. The community center is the park's indoor hub, offering programs and activities year-round.

Inside the recreation center, you can find an indoor gymnasium and a well-equipped fitness room with free weights, exercise machines, treadmills, and ellipticals. You might even want to check out one of the line dancing classes - a fun way to get moving!

Natural Areas
