Park History

Umso Park, formerly known as Striker Field, is a newly developed community park located in Northeast Eugene, Oregon. Opened in September 2023, this 8.36-acre park serves as a vibrant recreational space for the surrounding neighborhood. The park's name, "Umso," comes from the Kalapuya language and means "it is good," reflecting the area's indigenous heritage.

The park was developed as part of Eugene's commitment to expanding green spaces and recreational facilities for its residents. Funded through a combination of System Development Charge Funds and the 2018 Parks and Recreation Bond, Umso Park represents a significant investment in the community's quality of life.
