Central Urban Oasis

Aviator Park is a public green space located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Situated adjacent to The Franklin Institute and Moore College of Art & Design, the park serves as an open, family-friendly oasis in the heart of the city.

2007 Renovation

In 2007, Aviator Park underwent an extensive renovation to enhance its appeal and functionality. The improvements included new paved walkways, additional plantings, updated benches, trash receptacles, and improved light fixtures.

These upgrades were designed to create a more welcoming and accessible environment for visitors.

Notable Artworks

The park features several notable public artworks. Among these are the Aero Memorial by Paul Manship, a gilded bronze sculpture dedicated to aviators who lost their lives in World War I.

The park also houses the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors by J. Otto Schweizer, adding historical and cultural significance to the space.
