Historical Background

Awbury Park is a public green space located in the East Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The park is part of the larger Awbury Historic District, which encompasses the former summer homes and farms of the extended Cope family, who moved to the area starting in 1849.

The park comprises approximately 28 acres of land that was acquired by the Fairmount Park Commission in 1921.
