About the Location
Make a Splash!
At the heart of Stevenson Park sits the Stevenson Splash Pad, a 3,000 square foot water playground that's fantastic for those scorching Texas days. With 22 interactive spray features and a Super Wave dumping bucket that actually works (yes, really!), it's a reliable spot to cool down when the temperature climbs. We love that they've thought about the parents too - five shaded seating areas surround the splash pad, so you can watch the kids without melting in the sun.
Get Moving
Not in the mood to get wet? The park has you covered with a baseball/softball field and a basketball court for when you're feeling sporty. There are walking trails winding around the grounds - fantastic for a morning jog or an evening stroll to clear your head.
The creek/lake area offers a tranquil spot to pause and appreciate a bit of nature in the city. And sometimes, all you need is some open grass to throw a frisbee or spread out a blanket and cloud-watch for a while.
Kid-Friendly Play Zone
Beyond the splash pad, there's an updated playground that gives kids another option for burning off energy. While it's not huge, it offers some unique obstacles and equipment that keep things interesting. It's a nice alternative when the kids have had enough water play but aren't ready to call it a day just yet.
Comfort Matters
When hunger strikes, head to one of the covered picnic areas complete with benched seating and conveniently placed trash cans. It's a no-fuss spot for a family lunch or small gathering.
You'll appreciate the clean, spacious restrooms when it's time to change out of wet clothes or just freshen up. Note that these facilities are located in a separate section of the park, so you might want to point them out to the kids before they urgently need them.
There's also a pavilion and additional shaded areas when you need a break from the sun. As evening approaches, the park's good lighting helps keep things safe and visible.
If you're planning an active day out or just need some fresh air, Stevenson Park offers a versatile space for all kinds of outdoor activities.
