Sanchez School Park is a joint-use site located on the grounds of Sánchez Elementary School. The school was built in 1976 and named after Dr. George I. Sánchez, a pioneer in bilingual education.
The park spans approximately 1.3 acres and serves as both a school playground and a public park. It is open to the community outside of school hours, providing recreational space for the surrounding neighborhood.

The park includes traditional playground equipment as well as open areas for various activities. These spaces cater to both students and the general public.
The school itself boasts murals by artist Raul Valdez depicting Hispanic history and heritage, which may be visible from the park area. These cultural elements reflect the school's commitment to bilingual education and its connection to the local community.
Community Partnership
Sanchez School Park is part of Austin's School Park program, which allows public access to school grounds during non-school hours. This arrangement exists through an interlocal agreement between the City of Austin and Austin Independent School District.
Maintenance and improvements to the park are shared responsibilities between the Austin Independent School District and the City of Austin's Parks and Recreation Department. This collaboration aims to maximize the use of public spaces and provide recreational opportunities in areas that might otherwise lack park access.
