Location and Size

Located in a cozy residential neighborhood off Hebron Parkway in northern Carrollton, Texas, Oak Hills Park spans about 4.5 acres of public recreational space. It's a little green space tucked away in suburban Dallas.

Splash Park

The Oak Hills Splash Park is the main attraction here. It's a completely free water play area where kids can cool off during those sweltering Texas summers. The splash park runs daily from May 1 through September 30, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

What really makes this splash pad stand out are the water slides that give kids a mini water park experience without the hefty admission price. It's a bit of a hidden retreat compared to other splash pads around, but fair warning - it can get pretty packed when the temperatures soar.

Recreational Facilities

Beyond getting wet, Oak Hills Park has plenty of other options to keep you active. There's a basketball court for shooting hoops and a sand volleyball pit where you can practice your serves and spikes.

The playground area modeled after a pirate ship is popular with younger children who can enjoy pretend high-seas adventures.

If soccer is more your thing, you'll appreciate the soccer field where you can kick around a ball or organize an impromptu friendly match.

Picnic Areas

When it's time to refuel or just relax, head to one of the picnic pavilions with grills that operate on a first-come basis. These shaded spots allow you to relax while keeping an eye on the kids as they play.

There's also a gazebo that offers shade from the intense Texas sun while still letting you enjoy the fresh air. You'll often see birthday celebrations and family get-togethers happening in these areas - they provide just the right setting for making memories.

Visitor Information

One thing to note is the limited parking situation - it's worth planning ahead, especially if you're heading over during busy times.

On the plus side, the park does have public restrooms available, which is always a relief when you're planning to spend a few hours outdoors, especially with children in tow.
