Sports Fields and Facilities

Tucked away in College Station, Texas, Lemon Tree Park is a breath of fresh air for anyone looking to spend some quality time outdoors. This park has options for both sports enthusiasts and those who just want to enjoy a peaceful afternoon in nature.

One of the main features is its natural grass baseball field. With a 200-foot fence, lights for evening games, and plenty of seating (both bleachers and space for your favorite camp chair), it works well for everything from casual family games to more organized events. The field is well-kept, so you won't be dealing with unexpected divots during your home run sprint.

Multi-Purpose Athletic Areas

Baseball not your thing? No worries. Lemon Tree Park offers several other sporting options. There are four synthetic fields measuring 80x110 yards, all lit up for evening activities and equipped with bleachers for spectators or tired teammates.

If you prefer the feel of real grass beneath your feet, you'll appreciate the nine natural grass fields of the same size, also featuring lights for those twilight games. These versatile spaces host everything from soccer practices to community events.

There's also a basketball court where you can work on your jump shot or challenge friends to a quick game. While parking can get a bit tight during softball tournaments, the surrounding streets usually offer plenty of spots if you don't mind a short walk.

Disc Golf Course

The disc golf course here offers a fun challenge that won't overwhelm beginners but still keeps things interesting for more experienced players. It's not particularly long, but what it lacks in distance it makes up for in creativity - you'll find yourself throwing hook shots over and around trees, testing your technical skills.

Interestingly, this course started as an Eagle Scout project, adding a nice community backstory to your disc golf experience.

Walking Trails and Playground

If you're looking for a pleasant place to get your steps in, the walking trails that meander through Lemon Tree Park fit the bill perfectly. They're well-maintained and offer a peaceful route for your morning walk or evening stroll.

For the little ones, there's a playground that, while not massive, provides enough entertainment to keep younger children happy. Just note that shade is somewhat limited around the play area, so sunscreen is your friend on warmer days.

Amenities

Planning to make a day of it? The park includes picnic areas complete with tables, trash cans, and BBQ pits - great for anything from a simple lunch to a family reunion. When nature calls, restroom facilities are available on-site, however you might find them locked during off-hours.

Your four-legged friends are welcome too, as the park is dog-friendly. Just remember to bring bags to clean up after your pup - it's the neighborly thing to do.

Reservations

If you're planning an event, you should know that many of the park's facilities can be reserved through College Station's Parks & Recreation Department. This helps ensure everyone gets fair access to what this lovely community space has to offer.
