About the Location
Historic Origins
Lake Cliff Park is a 44.5-acre community park located in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. The park was established in 1914 when the City of Dallas purchased the land from a private amusement park that had operated there since 1906.
The park retains some elements from its early 20th century origins as an amusement destination, though most of the original attractions are long gone. Historical features in the park include a stone pergola and formal rose garden that were constructed in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration.
