Spread across a whopping 400 acres, Ascarate Park is El Paso County's largest public recreational space. Tucked away on Delta Drive, this expansive green haven offers something for just about everyone, whether you're looking to cast a line, play a round of golf, or simply soak up some Texas sunshine.

Lake Life

At the heart of the park lies a generous 48-acre lake that's great for a bit of fishing or peaceful non-motorized boating. Fish enthusiasts will appreciate the well-stocked waters - you'll discover trout swimming about in winter months and catfish in summer, alongside largemouth bass, black bass, sun perch, blue gill, carp, shad, crappie, and hybrid sunfish.

The lakeside boardwalk makes for a lovely stroll, offering beautiful views that change with the seasons and time of day.

Golfer's Paradise

For golf enthusiasts, the park offers several options. The park houses a complete 18-hole, 72-par golf course alongside the more compact Delta 9, a 9-hole executive course fantastic for a quicker game. Beyond the fairways, you'll come across a lighted driving range, three putting greens, two chipping greens, and even a practice bunker to help perfect that sand game.

Take a Dip

When the El Paso heat kicks in, the park's aquatic center offers welcome relief. The 50-meter Olympic-size outdoor competition pool is a rare find in the county. Families appreciate the thoughtful design that includes a separate children's pool, an impressive waterslide for thrill-seekers, and two smaller slides where younger kids can join the fun.

Get Active or Relax

Sports options abound with softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a spacious soccer field. If you're planning a more laid-back day, the picnic areas come complete with tables and BBQ grills - ideal for a family cookout or gathering with friends.

Good to Know

The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 10PM during the year. While you can enter free of charge on weekdays, note that there's a small parking fee on weekends and holidays.
