Cultural Centerpiece
The park's centerpiece is a large replica of the Aztec Calendar Stone, also known as the Sun Stone. This monument is a cast of the original Aztec Calendar Stone housed in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.
The park was established over 50 years ago when the replica calendar stone was presented to the city of El Paso by Petroleos Mexicanos, a Mexican state-owned petroleum company. The stone serves as both a decorative feature and an educational tool, allowing visitors to examine the intricate carvings and symbols of the ancient Aztec calendar system up close.
