About the Location
Park Overview
Located in Garland, Texas, Groves Park spans 14.3 acres of public recreational space. Situated right next to the Jackson Technology Center for Math and Science, this park is used by both the local community and students looking for a breath of fresh air between classes.
Sports Facilities
Baseball enthusiasts will feel right at home here. The park has two lighted baseball diamonds, including a larger field named in honor of Boyce Howard Patterson - a Vietnam Veteran and Garland local who dedicated countless hours to the Northwest Garland Little League.
The second, smaller baseball field is also equipped with lights for evening games. There's even a practice backstop available for those looking to perfect their pitch or batting skills before the big game.
Tennis and Recreation Areas
If tennis is more your speed, you'll discover two courts waiting for your match - though you'll want to wrap up before sunset as they aren't lighted. Beyond organized sports, the park offers plenty of open green spaces where you can toss a frisbee, have a picnic, or simply lie back and watch the clouds drift by.
Amenities
You'll find clean restroom facilities and a drinking fountain available during your visit. There's parking space for up to 154 vehicles.
If you're coaching little league, serving aces, or just seeking some quiet time outdoors, this neighborhood green offers a little something for everyone in the Garland community.
