About the Location
Park Overview
Nestled in Garland, Texas, Tinsley Park is a retreat spanning 14.3 total acres, with 8.3 acres transformed into recreational space for everyone to enjoy.
Just a short drive (less than a mile) south of West Miller Road, this park offers a peaceful retreat from the everyday hustle. The well-maintained grounds provide a fantastic backdrop for family outings, solo adventures, or just catching your breath in nature's embrace.
Nature-Inspired Playground
The showstopper here has to be the nature-inspired playground, completed in July 2023 as part of a bond project.
Kids are absolutely drawn to the large climbing rock shaped like a giant wolf head (how cool is that?). The playground also features rustic log beams, log steppers, climbing boulders, and a tree swing that'll have your little ones begging to stay longer. Don't miss the extra-large turtle structure that adds a whimsical touch to this unique play space.
Recreational Opportunities
Looking to burn some energy? The park's open fields are ideal for impromptu games of touch football, soccer, or ultimate frisbee. Grab your friends, bring a ball, and you're set for hours of fun.
You'll also find plenty of space for spreading out a blanket for picnics or just lounging under the Texas sky. The park's layout makes for nice walking or running routes too, so you can get your steps in while enjoying the scenery.
Natural Areas
The park's perimeter is lined with charming wooded areas that add character and shade to your visit.
There's also a small lake tucked away near the wooded section that adds to the tranquil atmosphere. These natural features create a little pocket of calm in the midst of suburban Garland - a wonderful spot to reset and recharge.
