Lafayette Street Park

Park Layout and Location

Lafayette Street Park has a split personality - amenities are scattered on both sides of the Lafayette Street Overpass (also called the Judge Hector J. Liendo Overpass), giving you multiple areas to explore in one visit. The park stretches along Lafayette Street from the 1600 to 2200 block in Laredo, Texas.

Recreational Facilities

If you're looking to try something new or stick with the classics, this park offers several options. Late 2023 brought an exciting addition to the mix - four pickleball courts joined the landscape as Laredo hopped on the nationwide pickleball bandwagon. If you haven't given this paddle sport a try yet, here's your chance!

Water Features

When Texas heat hits hard, the park's splash pad becomes the place to be. Running Tuesday through Sunday during the warmer seasons, this water play area provides a wonderful escape for families. Nothing beats watching kids dash through water sprays on a scorching summer afternoon.

Skating Facilities

Got a skateboard collecting dust? The skate park section offers ramps, rails, and obstacles that welcome everyone from beginners to veterans of the board. It's a safe space to practice those tricks you've been working on or just cruise around and enjoy the vibe.

Community Space

Beyond the specialized areas, Lafayette Street Park is a versatile community hangout with all the standard park amenities you'd expect. Its proximity to the Jose A. Valdez Jr. Baseball Park makes it part of a larger recreational network that forms the backbone of Laredo's public spaces. Whether you're looking for an active day out or just a peaceful spot to unwind, you'll find options for both here.
