Buster Long Park

Recreational Features

The small lake at Buster Long Park is a real highlight, stocked with fish for those who find peace in casting a line. If fishing isn't your thing, you can always bring your radio-controlled boats to zip across the water - a surprisingly fun way to spend an afternoon. Just a heads up: the lake edges aren't always pristine, so you might want to choose your lakeside spot carefully.

The park stretches across several acres of Lubbock greenspace in a cozy residential neighborhood, and it's a nice spot where locals gather to enjoy the outdoors together.

Sports and Fitness

If you're looking to break a sweat, Buster Long offers several options. The basketball courts and volleyball courts are open to the public, ideal for pickup games or practicing your skills.

Need something more low-key? The walking trail meanders throughout the property, ideal for a morning jog, an evening stroll, or just stretching your legs while catching up with a friend.

Family Amenities

Kids won't be bored here, thanks to the well-designed playground equipment that caters to various age groups. The play area provides a safe space where little ones can climb, slide, and burn off some energy.

Surrounding the lake are grassy areas good for picnic blankets. These open spaces are well-suited for unwinding with a good book, enjoying a sandwich, or tossing around a football with family.

Management

The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department keeps everything running smoothly, handling the maintenance of both grounds and facilities.

To keep this natural haven enjoyable for everyone, you're expected to follow city ordinances and park rules. A little respect goes a long way in preserving this local favorite.
