Spanning about 5 acres at 6007 Marsha Sharp Freeway in the northeast corner of McAlister Park, McAlister Dog Park gives four-legged friends plenty of room to stretch their legs and burn off energy. Since its opening, the park has been popular with dog owners, with its clean, well-maintained grounds drawing a steady crowd.

Park Layout

The designers of this park clearly had all dogs in mind when planning the space. It's thoughtfully divided into three distinct sections: a spacious area for big dogs to romp around, a separate section where small dogs can play without feeling overwhelmed, and a dedicated agility training course for the more athletic canines. Safety is a priority here, with double-gated entrances at each section - a feature helpful for preventing unexpected escapes.

This separation allows dogs of all sizes to play without intimidation or anxiety. Each area is generously sized, giving dogs the freedom to sprint, play fetch, or make new furry friends without feeling cramped.

Future additions to the broader McAlister Park may include a food truck area for when you work up an appetite, covered basketball courts and pickleball courts for the sports enthusiasts, and an indoor sensory playground called Milestones.
