About the Location
Park Overview
Located in Mesquite, Texas, Paschall Park covers 50.6 acres of green space. With its rolling hills and perfect blend of open spaces and wooded areas, it's a breath of fresh air in the suburban landscape.
One thing you'll definitely appreciate are the tall trees scattered across the park, offering blessed shade during those scorching Texas summers. Located conveniently near I-635 in south Mesquite, it's super easy to get to whether you're a local or just passing through.
Disc Golf Heaven
If you're into disc golf, there's an 18-hole disc golf course that appeals to both beginners and experienced players. Each hole features two concrete tee pads - the Blue Course stretches a challenging 6,345 feet while the White Course offers a more manageable 4,785 feet.
The course nicely incorporates the natural landscape. You'll be throwing through mature trees, across open fairways, and along a creek on some holes. The front nine tends to be more forgiving with open spaces, while the back nine will test your technical skills (just a heads up - it can get a bit muddy after rain).
Sports Facilities
Sports enthusiasts will find plenty to love here. The park features lighted softball fields and football fields that are kept in great condition year-round. These spaces attract everyone from organized leagues to friends just looking to throw a ball around.
On weekends, you'll often find the fields buzzing with activity as Little League football games and baseball matches bring the community together. There's something heartwarming about seeing families cheering on their young athletes from the sidelines.
Nature and Trails
Need a moment with nature? The park's interactive butterfly trail offers a peaceful escape where you can observe local plants and wildlife. Be prepared for some wet patches along the trail after spring showers. With 1.55 miles of trails within the park, there's plenty of ground to cover.
These paths connect to the larger East Mesquite Trail network, linking Paschall to neighboring Travis Williams Park, Bruton Park, and Hodges Park. Regardless of whether you're jogging, walking, or cycling, these trails provide a tranquil setting away from the urban hustle.
Amenities
When it's time to refuel, head to one of the picnic areas equipped with tables, or gather at the large pavilion that's available for reservation. The pavilion is thoughtfully designed with automatic lighting that kicks in at dusk and includes grills for those perfect outdoor cookouts.
Got kids in tow? The playground features soft foam surfacing beneath the equipment for safer play. While it's not the biggest playground you'll ever see, it offers enough fun options to keep the little ones entertained. And yes, there are restrooms near the pavilion area when nature calls.
Pet-Friendly Features
Dogs are welcome at Paschall Park. The expansive grounds provide plenty of space for dogs to stretch their legs and burn off energy, However, you should know that occasionally you might encounter an unleashed dog (despite the rules).
The trails and grassy areas make for perfect dog-walking territory. Just remember to be a responsible pet parent and clean up after your four-legged companion so everyone can enjoy this lovely community space.
