Park Overview

Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of New Braunfels, Fischer Park is the largest park in the city's system, sprawling across 62 acres of Texas Hill Country. This scenic spot isn't just another patch of green - it's a place where history and nature beautifully intertwine.

The land has a story of its own, having once been the Fischer family homestead since 1946. In 2007, the family sold 55 acres to the city and generously gifted an additional 3 acres to the New Braunfels Parks Foundation. The city later rounded out the park by purchasing 4 more acres, completing this natural haven that locals and visitors enjoy today.

Trails and Natural Areas

If you're looking to stretch your legs, the park offers over two miles of greenway trails great for walking, jogging, or cycling. These paved pathways meander through the park's diverse landscape, offering a refreshing dose of sunshine and nature. Fishing Opportunities

Fishing enthusiasts, take note: Fischer Park houses two fishing ponds that aren't your average water features. These are officially designated Texas Parks and Wildlife Community Fishing Lakes, stocked annually with channel catfish, bass, and trout. You can cast your line from the banks or try your luck from the dock on one of the ponds.

Just remember to bring your state fishing license and freshwater stamp, as these ponds follow special regulations. It's a small price to pay for the chance to reel in dinner while enjoying the park's tranquil setting.

Budding archaeologists will dig the park's sand pit area, designed as an archaeological site where children can channel their inner explorer while having a blast.
