Found in Odessa, Texas, the UTPB Park Sprayground (also known as the Jurassic Jungle Sprayground) is a refreshing oasis within the Basin Sports Complex at the University of Texas Permian Basin. It's a place where children can splash, laugh, and cool off during those scorching Texas summers.

Park Amenities

Covered Areas

The Texas sun can be relentless, which is why the six covered pavilion areas scattered around the sprayground are absolute lifesavers. Each pavilion houses about 2-4 tables, creating perfect rest stations where you can catch your breath, enjoy some snacks, or simply watch the kids play while sitting in the shade.

These shelters provide a respite from the heat - particularly useful during peak summer days.

Safety and Supervision

Peace of mind comes in the form of lifeguards who keep watch over the water play area. They're not just there to enforce rules; many go above and beyond, helping manage lines for popular water features and ensuring everyone gets a turn, even during busy times.

Some lifeguards give special attention to children with different abilities, helping ensure everyone feels included and safe.

Part of a Larger Complex

The fun doesn't have to end at the sprayground. As part of the Basin Sports Complex, the area includes softball fields, soccer fields, and basketball courts. You can bring your gear to shoot some hoops, kick a soccer ball around, or try fishing.

Like other spraygrounds in Odessa, this water park is completely free and open to the public. You can splash to your heart's content from 1-7PM daily during the seasonal operating months. It's free to use and popular with local families.
