About the Location
Trails and Outdoor Activities
Located in Plano, Hackberry Park spans a cozy 7.5 acres with a 0.60-mile looped trail that's meant for your daily dose of nature. No matter if you're power walking to clear your mind, jogging off last night's dessert, or cycling with the family, this well-maintained path welcomes everyone - furry friends included, just keep them leashed!
Looking to channel your inner athlete? The park's open sports fields operate on a first-come basis, complete with soccer goals ready for action. The expansive field has plenty of room for impromptu soccer matches, casual softball games, or even a nostalgic round of kickball with friends.
Playgrounds and Recreation
Kids aged 2-12 will light up at the sight of Hackberry's two modern playgrounds. The recently updated play areas feature plenty of swings and - our personal favorite - giant bright smiling bug structures that little ones can climb all over. Trust us, these colorful critters are guaranteed to spark giggles from toddlers and elementary schoolers alike.
Sports enthusiasts haven't been forgotten either. There's a basketball court waiting for your next pick-up game, and a pickleball court for those who've jumped on the bandwagon of America's fastest-growing sport.
Amenities and Gathering Spaces
Planning a get-together? The park's pavilion comes equipped with grills and picnic tables - great for everything from birthday celebrations to Sunday family cookouts. You can even reserve the covered area if you're organizing something special.
The generous grassy space invites lounging, frisbee tossing, or simply spreading out a blanket to enjoy the outdoors. Mature trees dot the landscape, offering natural beauty and some respite from the Texas sun, but a few more shaded spots wouldn't hurt during those scorching summer months.
General Information
You'll appreciate how clean and well-maintained the park is year-round. Street parking surrounds the perimeter, making it easy to access whether you're from the neighborhood or just visiting.
Dog owners, your pups are welcome but remember to keep them leashed. While water fountains are available for staying hydrated, you'll come across the trash cans somewhat limited along the walking loop. Also worth noting: there are no public restrooms on-site, so plan accordingly.
