Water Features

When Texas heat hits hard, the park's swimming pool becomes the place to be. The pool area features a covered beach entry section that's good for young children. As of 2024, the pool has been completely renovated, resurfaced, and resealed - so everything feels brand new.

For the kids who prefer splashing to swimming, there's a splash pad with a 10-foot mushroom feature - a welcome relief on scorching summer days.

Sports Facilities

Athletic types will feel right at home with the park's tennis court, basketball court (nicely lit for evening games), and baseball/kickball field. Whether you're looking to organize a proper match or just shoot some casual hoops, the options are there.

There's also a sand volleyball court for beach-style play without the beach, plus plenty of open green space for frisbee, catch, or simply lounging on a blanket with a good book.

Children's Areas

The newly renovated playground (completed in spring 2024) offers plenty of activities for children. With natural-type structures, swings, climbing equipment, and spinning elements, it caters to kids of all ages and abilities. The thoughtful design includes separate sections for smaller and larger children, making it a place where everyone from toddlers to tweens can find their fun.

For larger gatherings, two covered pavilions provide welcome shade - one near the playground and another by the baseball field and disc golf course. The paved walking trails weaving through Cat Hollow offer a smooth surface for morning jogs, evening strolls, or bike rides with the kids. These well-maintained paths connect the different areas of the park while giving you a chance to enjoy the natural surroundings. You'll often see neighbors greeting each other along these trails.

Dog-Friendly Features

Four-legged family members are welcome at Cat Hollow, however they need to stay leashed throughout your visit. The open spaces and walking paths make for pleasant outings with your pup, with plenty of interesting smells for them and fresh air for you.

The park hosts several community gatherings throughout the year. During the year, Cat Hollow hosts events like Holiday in the Park, the July 4th Parade, the Summer Kick Off celebration, the Hairy Man Festival, and Movies in the Park. During holiday seasons, special visitors like Santa and the Easter Bunny make appearances that delight the younger crowd.

Facilities

Practical matters are well-handled with clean restrooms and ADA accessible features including wheelchair-friendly paths. There's a parking lot, however it fills quickly during popular times - you might need to resort to street parking when the park is bustling. The gates are open daily from 5AM to 11PM.
