About the Location
Recreational Facilities
City Park sits at the heart of Sugar Land, Texas, spanning a generous 21 acres where 7th Street meets St Theresa Boulevard. This park is where locals come to play, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors.
Sports Fields
The park has five lighted baseball fields - well-suited for those evening games when the Texas heat has settled down. There's a cozy t-ball field for the littlest sluggers, three little league fields where young boys develop their skills, and a pony league field for more advanced players.
Not into baseball? No problem. The park includes a dedicated football practice area, batting cages for perfecting your swing, a sand volleyball court for beach-style play without the beach, and even horseshoe pits for those who appreciate this classic game of skill.
Municipal Pool
The Municipal Pool has been making summer memories since 1967. This 25-yard pool varies in depth from 3 to 12 feet, featuring two 1-meter diving boards for those brave enough to take the plunge.
It's also where the Sugar Land Sharks swim team calls home - you might catch them practicing their strokes during team sessions.
Skate Park
The lighted and covered skate park pavilion protects boarders from both the blazing sun and unexpected rain. With bleachers, benches, and bike racks available, it's set up nicely for both participants and those who prefer to watch from the sidelines.
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., this well-designed facility gives skateboarding enthusiasts a safe place to practice their tricks and meet fellow skaters.
Tennis and Pickleball
Racquet sport fans have access to four lighted tennis courts that do double duty as pickleball courts. This clever design accommodates both traditional tennis players and those caught up in the pickleball craze.
These courts are well-maintained and popular with local residents.
Family-Friendly Areas
Kids need their own space too, which is why the playground area with slides and a sand play area is such a hit. While the little ones climb, slide, and dig, parents can keep an eye on them from nearby.
When hunger strikes, families can take advantage of the covered picnic shelter, fire up one of the grills, or claim one of the many picnic tables scattered within the grounds.
Walking Trail
The park's walking trail offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether you're aiming for your daily steps or just want to wander through some greenery, this path provides a pleasant route through the park's natural setting.
Park Hours
You can visit City Park daily from sunrise to sunset, with sports fields available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Its central location makes it easily accessible, and with such diverse facilities, there's something here for Sugar Land residents of all ages and interests.
