Located in West Jordan, Utah, Veterans Memorial Park spans 99 acres of public green space. The park features everything from peaceful gardens to play areas.

As you wander through the park, you'll discover meticulously maintained gardens, winding walking paths, and a peaceful pond that's ideal for those moments when you need to pause and breathe. The generous open spaces make this spot ideal for spreading out a picnic blanket, tossing a frisbee, or simply soaking up some sunshine.

Wild West Jordan Playground

The Wild West Jordan Playground is a highlight for many children visiting the park. This western-themed play area covers nearly half an acre and reaches a towering 35 feet at its highest points. Built through a community effort, it's a testament to what neighbors can accomplish together.

The playground includes zip lines, multiple slides, swings, climbing structures, and musical equipment. Parents appreciate the fully fenced area with just two entrances, making it easier to keep track of energetic little ones.

But that's not the only place for kids to play - the park actually houses several playgrounds scattered throughout the grounds, catering to children of all ages and abilities. The soft, recycled rubber surfacing means fewer scraped knees and more carefree play.

Recreational Facilities

Honoring Our Heroes

True to its name, the park features a thoughtful Military Services Monument and peace garden that pays tribute to those who've served in the armed forces. These quiet spaces provide a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many.

Take a walk along the memorial path for a humbling experience that puts daily concerns into perspective. The monument's tribute walls and painted flag stand in striking contrast against the gray stonework, creating a powerful visual reminder of service and sacrifice.

The park serves many community functions, from casual meetups to larger events. You'll discover multiple covered pavilions equipped with picnic tables and permanent charcoal BBQ grills around the grounds - excellent for family reunions or birthday celebrations. The park is located near the West Jordan Library and the West Jordan Outdoor Pool. Throughout the year, the park hosts a variety of events that bring the community together - car shows, arts festivals, holiday celebrations, and charity walks regularly fill the calendar.

Practical Details

Clean restrooms are available at the pavilion during warmer months, with portable facilities appearing during larger events. Your four-legged friends are welcome too, however they'll need to stay leashed, and waste stations throughout make cleanup easy.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 11PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all it has to offer. While there are several parking lots available, they can fill up quickly during popular events or sunny weekends - arriving early is your best bet for snagging a spot close to the action.
