About the Location
The Wheel Deal
Tucked away at 8600 S. and Ron Wood Park Road in West Jordan, Utah, the Wheels Park is a haven for anyone who loves life on wheels. Just east of the pickleball courts at Ron Wood Park, this 153,000 square foot facility is where riders of all types can enjoy concrete features designed for various wheel sports.
The park is thoughtfully divided into several areas including a large street plaza, a bowl, and a multi-use plaza - offering a variety of features for skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter enthusiasts.
Rolling for Everyone
What really sets this place apart is its inclusivity. West Jordan Wheels Park proudly hosts the only beginner pump track in Utah - a wonderful starting point if you're just finding your wheels. Once you've mastered the basics, you can graduate to the intermediate-advanced pump track with its multiple riding lines that let you progress at whatever pace feels right.
Got tiny riders? The beginner track is fantastic for toddlers and little ones on striders, scooters, or bikes. There's even a dedicated toddler-oriented section where children as young as three can safely experience the thrill of rolling while you keep a watchful eye.
Layout and Extras
The whole park is designed with families in mind. Different elements are grouped strategically so younger riders stay in safer areas where you can easily spot them. Comfortable viewing areas mean you don't have to stand around awkwardly while watching your kids (or friends) show off their latest tricks.
When you need a break from the action, head to the pavilion for some much-needed shade. And if wheels aren't everyone's thing, the adjacent Ron Wood Park offers pickleball courts and a playground, making this a great destination for groups with varied interests.
What's Coming Next
This wheels park is actually just the beginning of what will eventually be a 95-acre recreational complex. Future plans include new soccer fields, a recreation center, and multiple bike trails - adding significant recreational options to the area.
Natural Touches
The park's designers didn't just think about the concrete features. The landscaping thoughtfully incorporates native grasses, cobble mulch, and low-water use trees that provide shade while respecting Utah's arid climate. It's a practical approach that looks good while conserving resources.
