Lewis Creek Park

Natural Setting

Lewis Creek Park is a 55-acre natural area located in Bellevue, Washington. The park is situated at the headwaters of Lewis Creek, which flows into Lake Sammamish. It offers visitors a diverse landscape to explore, including wetlands, meadows, and forests.

The park serves as an important ecological resource, helping to protect water quality in the Lewis Creek watershed. The park's forests and wetlands play a crucial role in capturing rainwater, reducing runoff and erosion, and filtering pollutants before they reach the creek and Lake Sammamish.

Trails and Exploration

The park features nearly 3 miles of trails, including soft-surface paths and boardwalks that wind through the various habitats. These trails provide opportunities for hiking, nature observation, and environmental education.

Interpretive signs along the routes offer information about the park's ecology and history.

Visitor Center

At the heart of the park is the Lewis Creek Visitor Center, a 2,500 square-foot multipurpose facility that provides information about the park and regional recreational opportunities. The center also hosts educational programs and events focused on local ecology and environmental stewardship.

Recreation Facilities

In addition to its natural areas, Lewis Creek Park includes developed recreational facilities. There are two Little League baseball fields with a soccer overlay, providing space for organized sports activities.

The park also features play areas for children, offering both younger and older kids designated spaces for outdoor play.

Picnic Areas

For those looking to enjoy a meal outdoors, the park provides picnic facilities. Two covered picnic shelters are available, each able to accommodate up to 35 people.

These shelters can be reserved for gatherings or used on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved.
