About the Location
Natural Features
Tucked away in the Arbor Heights neighborhood of West Seattle, Seola Park spans 8.8 acres of green space that offers a refreshing escape from city life. This tranquil space blends forest scenery with occasional peeks of water views.
What makes this park special is its sizeable ravine and towering trees that create a genuine woodland feel. Just a heads-up though - while maps might suggest the park extends all the way to Puget Sound, you can't actually access the waterfront from here. The beach area belongs to private property owners.
Visitor Areas
If you head to the upper section of Seola Park, you'll find a small, level area shaded by magnificent tall trees. On clear days, you can catch glimpses of Puget Sound between the branches - well-suited for a laid-back picnic, especially when you need some shade on those hot summer afternoons.
Just so you know, this isn't your typical park with playgrounds and ball fields. Seola is more trail-oriented, offering a more natural experience. Parking is also limited, so plan accordingly.
Conservation
Seola Park represents part of Seattle's commitment to maintaining green spaces throughout the city. While you won't find extensive recreational facilities here, what you will discover is a quiet natural retreat. It's a modest but valuable touch of wilderness within the urban landscape - a place where local residents can connect with nature without leaving the city.
