About the Location
Recreational Features
Found in Spokane, B.A. Clark Park offers a little something for everyone in the neighborhood. There's a jogging path that loops around the entire park - meant for your morning run or a leisurely evening stroll when you need to clear your head.
One of the first things you'll notice is the grove of mature pine trees that add character to the landscape while providing much-needed shade on those hot summer days. Kids have their own space to explore in the playground area, while the surrounding open areas give families plenty of room to toss a frisbee or spread out a picnic blanket.
Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the baseball field where local teams practice and compete, with softball games being a regular feature. The large open field is good for everything from impromptu soccer matches to community events when neighbors come together.
Amenities
When hunger strikes, you'll come across picnic tables nestled in the shade - strategically placed near the playground and baseball field so you can keep an eye on the action while enjoying your lunch.
There are restrooms available, but keep in mind they're typically only open during summer months (roughly June through early fall). If you're planning a visit during the cooler seasons, you might want to plan accordingly.
The park's gazebo offers a charming spot to gather with friends or take shelter from unexpected rain showers that are part of life in the Pacific Northwest.
Dog-Friendly Environment
Four-legged family members are welcome here, but they need to stay on leash at all times. The walking paths and open spaces provide plenty of opportunities for you and your pup to get some exercise together.
Historical Significance
There's a bit of Spokane history embedded in this green space. The park was named after B.A. Clark, who served as the Supervisor of Playgrounds in Spokane - a fitting tribute given the park's recreational focus.
Interestingly, it was developed as part of the Park Fund initiative, which brought to life some of the recommendations made by the renowned Olmsted Brothers landscape architecture firm back in 1913 for Spokane's park system.
Location
You'll find the park near the intersection of Garland and Division Avenues in Spokane, Washington. Parking is straightforward, with easy access for anyone arriving by car.
