Historic Origins
Saint James Park is a historic public green space located in the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Originally known as Webster Square, the park was one of three public squares donated to the city by John Jacob Astor and Associates of the American Fur Company in 1835. The park was later renamed after St. James Church, which stands across the street.
Community Centerpiece
Situated in the Astor Historic District, Saint James Park serves as a central gathering place for the community. The park features a prominent bandshell, constructed in 2002 and designed by Bay Architects. This bandshell hosts the City Band Concerts every Wednesday evening from the second week in June until the second week in August, providing free entertainment for local residents and visitors alike.
