About the Location
Park Overview
Found in north Huntsville, Alabama, Stoner Park spreads across 68 acres of public recreational space. You'll find this green oasis south of Stringfield Road and west of Pulaski Pike, offering a breath of fresh air and plenty of room to play.
Exciting Developments
There's a buzz of activity at Stoner Park these days as it undergoes some major upgrades. The star of the show? A brand new skating rink that's creating quite a stir in the community. This isn't just any rink - spanning 85 feet by 185 feet, it will be sheltered within a spacious 19,000-square-foot open-air pavilion where the tennis courts once stood.
The $2.3 million skating rink project wasn't just dreamed up out of nowhere - it came directly from community voices asking for more recreational options in the area. It's nice to see local input making a real difference.
Recreational Amenities
While waiting for the new skating rink to open, there's still plenty to enjoy at Stoner Park. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the football and baseball fields, while the multi-purpose fields accommodate everything from frisbee games to yoga sessions.
Kids won't feel left out with a dedicated playground area where they can climb, slide, and make new friends. And when hunger strikes after all that activity, the picnic facilities provide perfect spots to refuel and relax under the Alabama sky.
Visitor Experience
One thing we appreciate about Stoner Park is how thoughtfully it's laid out. You can easily move between different areas, making it possible to pack multiple activities into one visit. The generous open spaces and diverse facilities make it a popular spot for north Huntsville residents.
