Recreational Facilities

A walking trail loops around the park - great for a casual evening stroll or a morning jog if you're feeling more ambitious. There's plenty of open space meant for just about anything you might want to do outdoors, whether you're throwing a frisbee, having a picnic, or just lounging on a blanket with a good book.

If you have little ones in tow, there's a playground with swings and climbing equipment to keep them entertained. Fair warning though: some of the equipment has seen better days and could use some TLC. There's also a picnic shelter where you can enjoy lunch or just escape the Alabama sun for a bit when it gets too intense.

Natural Setting

Spanning 18 acres, this neighborhood green space is blessed with mature trees that cast cool, welcome shadows across much of the park. The generous shade makes Wares Ferry a refreshing retreat even during those sweltering summer months that Montgomery is known for.

Wares Ferry Park falls under the care of the City of Montgomery's Parks and Recreation Department. It's designed as a neighborhood park, offering both quiet spaces for relaxation and more active areas for recreation - a little something for everyone in the community.

Maintenance

It's worth noting that maintenance isn't always this park's strong suit. The playground equipment could definitely use some attention, and you might spot some litter scattered around certain areas. The park has potential, but it's currently facing some upkeep challenges that are hard to miss.
