About the Location

Riverside Location

Parker-Haun Park is a public space located along the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The park, which opened in the fall of 2022, serves as a gateway to West Tuscaloosa and offers a variety of features for community enjoyment.

The park includes green spaces and river-viewing areas along the bank of the Black Warrior River, providing visitors with opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

Park Features

A central plaza serves as a gathering space for community events, enhancing the park's role as a social hub.

One of the park's notable features is its outdoor stage, which can be used for performances and public events. The park is also equipped with color-changing RGB lights throughout, adding a dynamic visual element to the space, especially during evening hours.

Connection to the Saban Center

Parker-Haun Park is strategically located near the upcoming Saban Center, a hub for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education. This proximity creates synergies between the park and the educational facility.

Historical Naming

The park was renamed in October 2023 to honor the Parker and Haun families, who have long supported educational efforts in Tuscaloosa and are major partners of the Saban Center. Formerly known as River District Park, its current name recognizes the families' company, Parker Towing, which has its headquarters directly across from the park.
