About the Location

History and Background

Set in the heart of downtown Chandler, Arizona, Gazelle Meadows Park spans a welcoming 9 acres of neighborhood greenspace. What started as a simple retention basin back in 1985 evolved into something much more community-centered when additional amenities were added in 1992. It's been a local favorite ever since.

Park Features

One of the park's highlights is its 0.56 miles of scenic walking paths that meander through lush greenbelts. Whether you're getting your steps in or just enjoying a leisurely stroll, these paths provide a refreshing escape from the urban environment. There's also a separate sidewalk that loops around the entire park - ideal for your daily walk without having to worry about street traffic.

The spacious open turf areas are truly versatile spaces. Toss a frisbee, kick a soccer ball around, or simply sprawl out on a blanket with a good book. These grassy expanses work well as impromptu picnic spots when you want to skip the formal picnic tables and just enjoy the outdoors.

Playground and Amenities

Kids ages 5 and up will find plenty to keep them entertained at the park's playground. The setup includes a jungle gym, slides, and swings - all the classics that make for hours of fun.

Staying hydrated is easy thanks to a water fountain conveniently positioned near the playground. When it's time to refuel, head to the picnic area with its shaded tables. And don't worry about the Arizona sun too much - the park's trees offer natural shade throughout many areas.

Dog-Friendly Features

While it's not a fenced dog park, Gazelle Meadows has become quite popular with the four-legged crowd and their humans. The open spaces provide plenty of room for a game of fetch, and the walking paths make for pleasant dog walks. Just remember that park rules require your furry friends to stay on leash at all times.

Future Improvements

Exciting changes are on the horizon! Starting in October 2024, Gazelle Meadows Park will begin its transformation. The City of Chandler has partnered with Dig Studio Inc. to create design concepts that will not only upgrade existing amenities but also introduce new features to the park.

The project aims to update the park's features based on residents' needs and preferences.
