Ninja-Style Challenge Courses

Tucked away in Chandler is a park that's not your typical swing-and-slide affair. Meadowbrook Park features two obstacle courses inspired by American Ninja Warrior - you know, that show where incredibly fit people make impossible feats look easy. One side features equipment that's accessible for kids and fitness beginners (so you don't need to be a superhero to enjoy it).

The other side steps things up with an eight-challenge course for adults, complete with climbing ropes, strength bars, and agility pads. You'll often spot locals tackling these obstacles for their workouts or just for fun. The ninja course is a hit with teenagers, however younger children might find some elements a bit too challenging.

Beyond the Obstacles

There's more to Meadowbrook than just its ninja credentials. The park includes pleasant green spaces, much-appreciated shade structures (a blessing in Arizona), and walking paths for those leisurely strolls. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the basketball courts and volleyball courts, while those looking for something more laid-back can try their hand at the horseshoe pits.

Families particularly appreciate the smaller course with kid-friendly elements as a refreshing alternative to typical playgrounds. The grounds are well-kept and clean, making them excellent for various activities from biking to walking.

One thing to note: there are no public restrooms available here, so plan accordingly.

A Bit of Background

Meadowbrook Park is relatively new to the neighborhood, having officially opened in July 2018. Spanning 7.11 acres, this park wasn't just randomly designed - the City of Chandler developed it based on community input.

Since the surrounding area already had plenty of traditional playgrounds, Meadowbrook was intentionally created to offer something different for local residents. And different it certainly is.
