Windmills West Park

Park Features

Windmills West Park has been providing Chandler locals with a green escape since 1990, making it one of the longer-standing neighborhood retreats in the city's west planning area. At five acres, it might be modest in size, but it packs in plenty of charm.

The well-maintained walking paths wind through lush greenery, creating a peaceful setting that's well-suited for your morning stroll or an evening wind-down. If you've got kids in tow, they'll appreciate the multiple play structures designed with different age groups in mind.

Recreation Areas

Looking to stay active? The park's volleyball court is ready and waiting for an impromptu game with friends or family. Just remember to bring your own ball!

The playground area is a hit with the younger crowd, featuring swings and a plastic tire swing that never seems to go out of style with the little ones. Throughout the park, you'll come across several open fields that are meant for tossing a frisbee, having a casual kickball game, or simply sprawling out with a good book.

Picnic Facilities

The dedicated picnic areas make Windmills West a great spot for everything from family lunches to casual meet-ups with friends. Grab a blanket or use one of the picnic spots for your outdoor meal while enjoying the park's relaxed atmosphere.

Note that there are no public restrooms available here, so plan accordingly before settling in for the day.

Environmental Design

Interestingly, this park does double duty in the community. The west turf area actually serves as retention storage for drainage from the nearby streets. It's an effective design that helps manage rainwater while maintaining the park's appearance.
