Step into the spotlight for The Adaptive Fashion Show: The Golden Gala on September 19 at Mesa Arts Center! Presented by the Cities of Mesa and Chandler Adaptive Recreation programs, with support from Arizona Disabled Sports, this inspiring event will feature 60 incredible models with developmental disabilities taking center stage for a runway experience filled with confidence, style and the timeless glamour of Old Hollywood. Guests can make a full day of it with the optional Runway Reception at 11:00 a.m., featuring raffle and silent auction opportunities, a chance to meet Team Mesa & Chandler Athlete Ambassadors, learn more about Adaptive Recreation programs and connect with families, supporters and community members. The fashion show begins at 1:00 p.m. Proceeds from The Golden Gala benefit the Adaptive Recreation programs of the Cities of Mesa and Chandler, helping provide inclusive recreation opportunities that empower individuals of all abilities to learn, grow and thrive. The Community Engagement Division invites you to participate in this class at Mesa City Hall, where official public meetings and key civic decisions take place. Participants will learn how to become more involved in local decision-making, explore leadership opportunities, and understand the impact of serving on City advisory boards. The class will also cover the board appointment process and what to expect when serving, and participants will connect with City Clerk staff. Doors open and check-in begins at 5:30 PM. The class runs from 6:00 PM to 6:40 PM, followed by a Q&A session with Community Engagement and City Clerk staff.
