About the Location
Royal Playground Adventures
Situated in Mesa, Arizona, Princess Park is one of those delightful local retreats where families can unwind and kiddos can burn off energy. What makes this spot special? It's all about the castle-themed playground that transports little ones into a world of medieval make-believe.
The heart of the park is its imaginative medieval castle playground complete with towers and turrets where young knights and princesses can rule their kingdom. We love that there are actually three different play structures catering to various age groups - meaning your toddler won't get trampled by bigger kids, and older children won't be bored by equipment that's too simple.
Play Options for Everyone
The playground packs in plenty of fun with slides for children of all ages and some pretty cool climbing elements that lead to the higher slides - a definite hit with the older crowd. Active kiddos gravitate toward the spinning equipment, while the small swing set with two swings offers a classic park experience.
Parents, you'll appreciate that the playground uses wood chips instead of sand as ground cover (meaning less of that annoying sand-in-the-shoes situation). Everything is well-maintained and in great condition, so you can relax a bit while the kids play.
Beyond the Castle
The park itself is clean and offers plenty of space to spread out. If you're into sports, you'll come across a nice basketball court and a volleyball court that get regular use by visitors of all ages.
Planning a small gathering? The picnic tables with BBQ grills make for perfect lunch or dinner spots. While there aren't any large ramadas, you can still find some covered areas to escape the Arizona sun when needed.
Room to Roam
One of our favorite things about Princess Park is the large open grassy field that represents a blank canvas for whatever activity you fancy - tossing a frisbee, practicing soccer moves, jogging around, or letting your four-legged friend stretch their legs.
A unique bonus: there are horses on neighboring property that often catch the attention of fascinated children. There's also a canal running alongside the park that adds a peaceful element to the landscape - just remember to keep an eye on little ones in this area.
Good to Know
Heads up - there are no public restrooms here, so you might want to plan accordingly, especially if you're bringing young children. You will find drinking fountains available when you need to hydrate.
Despite its modest size, Princess Park offers a clean, peaceful atmosphere with enough recreational options to keep everyone entertained. It's particularly meant for shorter outings or intimate gatherings when you need a dose of fresh air and castle-climbing adventures.
