About the Location
History and Location
Set in Anaheim, California, Juarez Park spreads across 9.5 acres of public space. Established in 1978, the park bears the name of Benito Juarez, who served as Mexico's president from 1858 to 1872.
You'll find this green oasis east of State College Boulevard and south of Lincoln Avenue, tucked within a residential area. It sits right next to a public library, which nicely combines recreation and learning in one location.
Recreational Facilities
Juarez Park offers plenty of room to spread out and enjoy yourself. The generous green area provides ample space for family picnics or tossing a ball around without crowding other visitors.
If you're bringing kids along, they'll gravitate toward the children's play area with swings for both toddlers and older children, climbing structures, slides, and a webbed merry-go-round that's particularly popular with the younger crowd. While the playground works well for various age groups, some of the equipment could use a refresh.
Sports enthusiasts have several options here: a football/soccer area, an outdoor basketball court, and a softball field where you can often catch local baseball games in action.
Amenities
Looking to spend a relaxing afternoon outdoors? The park features multiple picnic tables scattered within the grounds and barbecue facilities for those who want to grill. Restroom facilities are conveniently located near the playground, however it's worth noting that some toilet stalls don't have doors, and the sinks are positioned outside the bathroom area.
The park has a recreation center that hosts various activities for the community. Occasionally, you might even catch community film screenings under the stars - a lovely way to connect with neighbors.
Visitor Experience
Juarez Park includes both open grassy spaces and shaded spots, making it comfortable regardless of the season. On warm California days, the mature shade trees provide welcome relief from the sun.
You won't need to circle around looking for parking, as the spacious parking lot typically has plenty of open spaces. Adding to the peace of mind, rangers regularly patrol the grounds, especially during evening hours.
Dog lovers often bring their four-legged friends for walks on the grassy areas, and there's at least one pet waste station with bags available. Just remember to keep your dog on a leash so everyone can enjoy their time at the park safely.
