This pocket park came to life in the early 1970s, with funding from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The land was acquired in 1973, and by 1974, the park was up and running.

This wasn't just a city project - the local Friends of Sixty-Third Street Mini-Park group rolled up their sleeves to help transform the space. More recent updates have made it even more appealing for families with little ones in tow.
