About the Location

What to Expect

Situated on Valley Street in Burbank, Valley Skate Park is an outdoor skateboarding haven within the larger Valley Park complex. This concrete space provides a place for action sports enthusiasts to practice their skills.

The park features a variety of transition elements and multiple skating lines, including a particularly steep bowl/pool that can challenge even experienced riders. While transition features are abundant, street-style obstacles are a bit more limited. You can find the park welcoming to skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users, however each group gets their own dedicated days - a smart system that keeps everyone safe and happy.

When to Go & What It Costs

The City of Burbank's Parks and Recreation Department runs a tight ship with a rotating schedule: BMX bikes own Mondays and Thursdays, scooter enthusiasts take over Wednesdays and Saturdays, while skateboarders claim Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Unlike many public skateparks, there is a small fee to ride here: $3 if you're a Burbank local and $5 for everyone else. A small price to pay for a well-maintained facility with designated activity days.

Safety First

Before you drop in, make sure you're geared up with a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads - they're non-negotiable here. You'll also need to register and sign a waiver (parents must sign for anyone under 18).

Planning to capture some trick footage? You'll need a permit for that. Also worth noting: the park gets locked up after hours, so don't plan any midnight sessions.

Beyond the Skate Park

The surrounding Valley Park recently received a renovation. The old sandbox playground has been transformed with rubber flooring and modern equipment. Now there are two separate play areas designed for different age groups, featuring quirky honeycomb pods connected by climbing ropes, three slides for the thrill-seekers, and swings suitable for kids of all ages.

When you need a break from skating, the park offers a baseball field, picnic tables, and plenty of grassy areas to chill. The walking path that loops around provides a nice way to stretch your legs, and there's abundant shaded seating when you need to escape the California sun.

Practical Stuff

Restrooms are available - nothing fancy, just your standard park facilities, but they do the job. The whole place is kept in good shape, with regular cleaning and prompt graffiti removal.

Dog owners will be happy to know their furry friends are welcome, though you'll need to clean up after them. Overall, Valley Park creates a welcoming environment for everyone, from hardcore skaters to families with young children exploring the renovated playground areas.
