About Heritage Park

Recreation Center

At the heart of Heritage Park sits a community center with regular activities. No matter if you're in the mood to shake it at a zumba class, perfect your moves in dance sessions, or work up a sweat with exercise programs (both aerobic and strength training), there's something for everyone. The center also hosts games, sports, and after-school programs that keep the community connected.

Just a stone's throw from the community center, you'll come across an amphitheater that is a cultural gathering spot. It hosts community events, school field trips, and local performances.

Park Features

Since opening in August 2002, this 10.1-acre nearby park has been well-used by the community. One of the most charming aspects has to be the duck pond, where you can take a moment to watch ducks glide across the water - and if you're lucky, you might spot some fluffy ducklings paddling along in spring.

The park offers plenty of open green spaces where you can toss a frisbee, have a picnic, or simply lie back and cloud-watch. For a more scenic rest stop, the lakeside gazebo provides a peaceful retreat with beautiful views of the water.

The park has a half-circle design with the recreation center at its core, surrounded by trees and lawns. Fitness enthusiasts take note: two full loops around the jogging track equals about a mile - well-suited for tracking your daily exercise goals.

Sports and Recreation

Heritage Park offers several sports facilities. There's a versatile multi-purpose playing field, lighted outdoor basketball courts with four hoops for those evening games, and a soccer field that regularly hosts youth matches that fill the park with energy and friendly competition. Skateboarders can show off their skills at the dedicated skate park.

When the temperature rises, the swimming pool in the south-east corner becomes the place to be. It's part of the recreation center's facilities and is popular during hot weather.

Accessibility and Amenities

The park features a mix of paved sidewalks and natural trails, giving you options for your morning jog or peaceful stroll. Many locals start their day with a walk here, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere before the hustle of daily life begins.

If you're visiting with kids, they'll love the playground equipment with separate areas designed for different age groups. While the playground has a certain rustic charm, do note that some equipment shows its age.

Scattered across the park are numerous picnic areas complete with tables, benches, and shelters. These spots circle the lake and jogging path, offering lovely views while you enjoy your outdoor meal or BBQ with family and friends.

Dog-Friendly Environment

Four-legged friends are welcome at Heritage Park, and you'll often see people jogging or walking with their canine companions. Remember to keep your dogs on leashes, however - the park gets busy and is close to traffic areas.

Convenience and Location

You'll find plenty of parking around the park's perimeter, however spaces can fill up quickly during youth sports events. When nature calls, clean restrooms with individual stall doors are available within the park.

Hungry after all that fresh air? Just across the street, you'll come across various food options and shops in the commercial area. And if you're using public transportation, getting to Heritage Park is easy with bus stops located nearby.
