Elk Grove County Park

Elk Grove Regional Park is a sprawling 122-acre public park located in Elk Grove, California. The park has been a gathering place for the community since the late 1800s and was officially established as a park in the early 1900s when local residents raised funds to purchase the land and preserve its oak trees.

The centerpiece of the park is a scenic 7.5-acre lake with two islands - Strauss Island and a smaller island with a pirate-themed play structure. A 1.4-mile multi-use trail winds around the lake and through groves of mature oak trees, offering opportunities for walking, jogging, and biking.

The park contains extensive sports facilities, including baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, and a disc golf course. For aquatic recreation, there is the Jerry Fox Swim Center. Younger visitors can enjoy multiple playgrounds and a bike park for practicing tricks and jumps.

Elk Grove Regional Park provides ample space for picnicking and gatherings, with 17 reservable picnic areas equipped with tables and barbecue grills. The park's Pavilion and Strauss Island can be rented for larger events. A dog park allows canine companions to exercise off-leash.

Throughout the year, the park hosts several popular community events and festivals, including Fourth of July celebrations, the Giant Pumpkin Festival, and the Strauss Festival. With its diverse amenities and natural beauty, Elk Grove Regional Park serves as a recreational and cultural hub for residents of Elk Grove and surrounding areas.
